Depression

Depression is a serious disorder which 'inspires' a lot of other much serious mental disorders being the central link in the chain reaction of mental disorders and conditions (e.g. psychosis etc.). It is often associated with trivial state of being 'blue'; however, its harmful effects must not be underestimated. To avoid medical terms, depression is a styate of constant sadness, total lack of desire to take part in life's interesting events – in life in general. In other words, a depressive person has no motivation at all let alone his/her invariably bad emotional state.
Depression in the majority of cases manifests itself in the sphere of a person's physical condition as well. A depressive person may always feel exhaustion, laziness, indifference. As for the most dangerous 'stage' of depression, it is characterized by thoughts of committing suicide even. This is a dangerous state, a person must not be left alone in these moments.
The causes of depression are different. Sometimes it is bred by constant stress, sometimes it comes after one's illness. Some scientists say that depressions are closestly connected with certain physical defects of a person. Other causes have to do with a depressive person way of life, that implies drugs, alcohol, smoking etc.
So as for the symoptoms of depression in detail, apart from reasonless constant sadness they are sleep disorders, anxiety, loss of concentration, weight loss/gain, feeling of emptiness inside etc.
Scientists say that depression is a mental disorder that almost runs in families i.e. is closely connected with a person's family relations implying its genetic causes. As for treatment, it is curable; the main condition is stably the same – the sooner depression's signs are detected, the more effective the treatment will be.
