Bipolar Disorder

In the past persons who suffered from bipolar disorder were called simply moody or crazy. Eventually there appeared a diagnosis sounding like manic-depression. In the most recent times the problem gained its stable name – bipolar disorder.
There are two 'episodes' regarding bipolar isorers – so called stages or phases. The first one is mania, the second is depression. Bipolar disorder doesn't care of you're a man or a woman, it can catch you irrespective of your sex, status or desire.
Sometimes mania results in psychosis which hmanifests itself in crazy reflections spiced up by hallucinations and delusions. In this condition a person loses the realization of reality, he/she cannot control his/her mind which is a total mess. At this stage of bipolar disorder people may confuse reality with their fantasy world which results in highly irrational (to put it mildly) or even crazy actions.
In the majority of cases mania is followed by depression – the second stage of bipolar disorder. When experiencing this phase of this very type of mental disorder a person may stay in bed for days without having a slightest interest in what is going on outside his/her home. That prompts total absence of any motivation or inspiration to be active let alone admitting that life is wonderful.
A lot of people whose lifestyle implies taking drugs or abusing alcohol suffer from bipolar disorder. Addiction to these harmful substances only makes the diagnosis worse. It's vitally important not to leave a person who suffers from bipolar disorder alone. The reason is simple yet very morbid – a person with bipolar disorder can commit suicide.
