Autism

Autism is a mental (neurological) disorder which affects (is diagnosed in) children and is associated with difficulties with speech, interaction with others and imagination. As for autism causes, scientists' opinions vary here. Some say it's brain disorder, others state that genes are to blame for such serious disorder. In any case, cause is not as important as cure to parents whose child is autistic.

With regard to signs of autism, they are as follows. First and foremost, an autistic child has difficulties talking to people; while he is being addressed, the kid may pay no attention to the potential interlocutor; kids with autism typically do not maintain eye contact with people who make attempts to talk to them.

As a rule, in order to concentrate, they perform certain actions in the form of rituals – swaying back and forth or collecting crayons in a group – anything that soothes them. There are cases when kids who suffer from autism never learn to talk – that's why speech therapy is vitally important when it's about curing autism.

Children with autism don't strive to communicate. On the contrary, they are happy to be alone with themselves. They tend to avoid expressing emotions. They don't seek affection or love from parents and rarely smile let alone laughing. Pay special attention to these symptoms and call your doctor in case you have noticed several of them in your kid.
