Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia nervosa, or anorexia in short is one of the most serious (even fatal) eating disorders. It is typically considered that anorexia is a disorder characteristic to young girls (15-25 y.o.) but the truth is that it affects young men as well as both men and women in their older phase of existence.

The most eloquent symptom of anorexia nervosa is too much weight lost because of excessive eating restrictions. As a rule, girls who suffer from anorexia are very vulnerable to critics and people who point out their discrepancy in physical shape with modern way too skinny views on way too skinny beauty.

With regard to the most peculiar symptoms of anorexia, they wake up when a person starves herself/himself out with various diets, is very afraid to gain weight or to start eating at least something noticeable (apart from lettuce, or various types of salads – vegetables and other types of caloriesless grass). A person is crazy about dieting, totally concentrated at the subject of food and calories, but is still sure that she/he is fat although his/her weight is much less than normal.

Complications that follow anorexia are adverse. If a person doesn't start looking for medical help soon enough, his risks to experience fatal outcome are successfully doubled. Don't hesitate to be persistent and do everything you can to take your beloved people or members of your family to a doctor once you notice even some of the above described signs of anorexia nervosa.
